Job Description

Our company is seeking a skilled TIG Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting and welding aluminum parts in the manufacturing of transit shelters. Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine welding requirements.
  • Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to join, fabricate, and repair metal parts and structures.
  • Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform welding in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions as needed.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in proper working condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Perform related tasks such as grinding, cutting, and finishing metal surfaces.
  • Assist in other production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  •   High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in welding preferred.
  • Proven experience as a TIG Welder or similar welding role.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of TIG welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • AWS certification preferred
  • Familiarity with other welding methods, MIG is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Safety-focused mindset and ability to follow established procedures.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/production facility with exposure to heat, noise, and welding equipment.
  • Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmet, gloves, and safety glasses.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and manual dexterity required.
  • Visual acuity to inspect welds and ensure quality standards.
