Role: Reporting to the marketing lead, this is a pivotal role as the ‘face of Honey Smoked Fish’ for retail customers and consumers. The Brand Ambassador role is responsible for leading and execution in-store and out-of-store sampling events for Honey Smoked Fish. We are specifically looking for candidates that are located in or around the Seattle area. Responsibilities: - Execute 3–4 sampling events per week driving trial, awareness, and retail velocity.
- Represent Honey Smoked Fish with energy and professionalism at in-store sampling events, Costco roadshows, and market activations as the face of the brand.
- Become a Honey Smoked Fish product expert, educating consumers on product attributes, health benefits, and usage occasions to drive purchase.
- Create a positive, consumer-friendly atmosphere at every event by actively engaging customers and encouraging product trial.
- Manage end-to-end execution of sampling events including scheduling, coordinating product samples, supplies, equipment, and promotional materials.
- Collect feedback and insights from events and submit timely post-event reports on performance, customer engagement, and recommendations.
- Maintain professionalism and compliance, including adherence to food safety protocols, store guidelines, and brand standards.
- Maintain a small inventory of sampling product in a company-provided mini refrigerator at home, adhering strictly to food safety and temperature guidelines.
- Travel throughout the Seattle region to support sampling events and retail activations.
- Participate in and support internal marketing initiatives, as needed.
Qualifications: - High School education or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of direct food / sampling experience.
- Valid driver’s license (required).
- Must have reliable personal vehicle to transport sampling equipment and travel to event locations throughout the Seattle metro area; mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate.
- Superb people and communication skills.
- Well-organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
- Team player.
- Excellent on-the-fly problem solving skills to navigate unexpected bumps in the road.
Other: The company is based in Denver, CO, but 95% of your role will be based on-site at activations in the Seattle and surrounding market. The remaining 5% of administrative reporting work can be done in a location of your choosing.
Compensation: - This is a 1099 independent contract role compensated at a rate of $25-$35/hour depending on experience. Roughly 20-30 hours per week depending on event schedule.
- Mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate.
- You will be required to work Saturday’s and/or Sunday’s depending on event schedule. Roughly 75% of your role will be weekend work. Accommodations can be made with advance notice.
