Job Description

To serve as a professional staff employee of the Indiana State Police whose primary responsibility is to assist the Department's Legal Counsel and members of the Legal Office.

Job Duties

Process incoming Public Records Requests and fulfill within allotted timeframe

Research and analyze law sources including statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal codes related to public records

Learn and apply Indiana Code to APRA requests for determination of release or denial of records

Process body and dash camera footage to ensure appropriate redactions are made per IC

Review Indiana Code and Indiana Administrative Code to make proposals regarding potential language changes

Coordinate assembly of documentation required as the result of subpoenas and discovery requests if needed

Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents as needed

Answer phones for Legal Office personnel

Perform other duties as required
